Sweet potato beds are planted and mostly mulched. In about 80 days, a bountiful crop of beautiful sweet potatoes will be available for harvest by Plymouth Sunday schoolers and others. There will be too many for Plymouth kids to do during a harvest session. Plans now are to plant okra – another highly productive crop loved by pantry clients and others.
Two new community volunteers are about to get a tour and plan participation in our garden. It seems folks are more interested in volunteering than gardening for themselves, which we thought would generate more gardening.
However, production continues to be way below previous years since no new garden coordinator has stepped up. Are you interested in learning to coordinate the garden? Training and assistance is provided. Contact Judy Walden – email@example.com.
