February 5 –  NAM Food Pantry – Souper Bowl of Caring

NAM Food Pantry – Souper Bowl of Caring. Souper Bowl Sunday began in 1990 when a youth group wanted to remind people of the issues of hunger on a day of festivities surrounding the Super Bowl. All contributions will go to the NAM Food Pantry. The Food Pantry ensures that no neighbor leaves hungry.  Volunteers work to sort donations, stock shelves and fill grocery bags with nutritious foods.  http://namonline.org/donate/hold-a-food-or-supplies-drive/

 

February 12 – Equal Justice Initiative

Equal Justice Initiative (EJI).  EJI is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. http://eji.org/

 

February 19 – Slumber Falls Camp

Slumber Falls Camp. Slumber Falls Camp is an outdoor ministry of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ. The twenty acre facility is nestled along the Guadalupe River. Cedar trees dominate the property, with cypress trees found along the river. An Indian mound and numerous fossils abound near the area known as Fossil Flats. Many children youth, and adults have deepened their awareness of God at Slumber Falls. http://slumberfalls.org/

 

February 26 – Chicago United Eden (CUE)

Chicago, United Eden, Seminaries (CUE).  CUE represents the 3 UCC seminaries in the middle area of the United States: Chicago Theological Seminary, United Theological Seminary (in Minneapolis), and Eden Theological Seminary (in St. Louis). Plymouth’s contribution to CUE enables us to support our future at Plymouth and in the UCC. http://cueseminaries.org/
