Pastor Mak Kneebone

Pastor Mak Kneebone is the Senior Pastor of Plymouth United Church, UCC.

Prior to coming to Plymouth United Church, Pastor Kneebone served churches in the Chicago area and, most recently, in northern Indiana. He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from the Chicago Theological Seminary in 2008.

Pastor Kneebone is active on the Leadership Team of the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ. He leads workshops on transgender spirituality, drumming, and non-violent liturgy at national and regional conferences, as well as at local churches. He previously served as the co-convener of the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches.

Pastor Kneebone’s passions focus on creating wholeness in a broken world by following the path of Jesus as Christ. He feels called to work on peacemaking, crafting inclusive and nonviolent liturgies, and having conversations about privilege and the intersections of oppression.
